Christmas Holiday Period COVID-19 Track and Trace

    Dear Parents/ Carers,

If your child shows symptoms of Covid-19 within 48 hours of the end of the school term, or tests positive for Covid-19 having shown symptoms within 48 hours of the end of school term, you MUST report this to Lancashire County Council immediately by emailing COVID19educationquestions@lancashire.gov.uk or calling 01772 531555.

Staff will be on hand to notify any other pupils in your child's bubble and their families so they can self-isolate for ten days. It is vital you tell the county council about any positive tests so we can help prevent the spread of coronavirus in our community.

If the date of the positive test is Saturday 19th December or Sunday 20th December, their class bubble will be informed and told to self-isolate for 10 days. Parents and Carers should follow contact tracing instructions provided by NHS Test and Trace.

If the date of the positive test result is after Sunday 20th December, the class bubble will not be informed as the 48 contagious period will not be applicable.

If your child becomes unwell and tests positive in the second week of the Christmas holidays, PLEASE DO NOT SEND THEM TO SCHOOL ON MONDAY 4th JANUARY.

Contact Lancashire County Council and you will be advised of a return date.

Thank you in anticipation of your co-operation,

    Yours sincerely,

    Miss R Musa

    Christmas at RAMJS

    Dear Parents/ Carers,

As we head towards the festive period, I wanted to communicate some of the changes to this year’s procedures and events. There are some alterations as a result of our

    COVID-19 restrictions.

    Class Pantomime

Each class enjoyed the Virtual Christmas Pantomime, Cinderella on Tuesday 1st December. Although we could not attend an actual Pantomime this year, the children appeared to really enjoy it.

    Non-Uniform day

On Friday 4th December, we are allowing children to attend school in their own choice of clothes. In exchange for this opportunity, school are looking for a donation towards their Christmas hamper raffle. These are optional donations, but we hope you can support their fundraising if you are in a position to do so.

    Christmas Party/Activities

Each class will have a party afternoon with activities on either Monday 14th December or Tuesday 15th December. Due to Covid restrictions, the children will be unable to bring any party food or drinks in to school. The children are still to wear their uniform on this day.

    Cards and presents

In line with guidance, we are unable to allow cards to be freely distributed around school between children. We will need to quarantine cards for 48 hours before giving them out. To make this manageable, we would like the children to bring Christmas cards for their friends into school by Tuesday 15th December. Your child will need to give them to their class teacher where they will put into quarantine and then give them out at the end of the week. Please do not bring cards in after this day.

We have had enquiries about cards or gifts to teachers. If you wish to do this, you are very welcome to do so. Staff will quarantine items as necessary.

    Christmas Jumper Day

We are allowing children to wear a Christmas jumper on Thursday 17th December. This is the same day as the Christmas Dinner. The only adaptation in uniform should be your child’s jumper. This is not a non-uniform day and we are not asking for any donations.

    Christmas Dinner

Christmas dinner is on Thursday, 17 December. These have had to be pre-ordered and payment has to be made via ParentPay.  If you have indicated that your child does not want a Christmas Dinner, please remember to send them with a packed lunch on that day. We will be listening to lots of Christmas music so hope the children enjoy themselves!

    Christmas Raffle

Tickets for the Christmas Raffle are now on sale but can only be purchased via ParentPay. As usual there will be lots of fantastic prizes to win. The tickets cost £1 per strip of 5. Once paid, the tickets will be sent home with your child. The raffle will be drawn on Thursday 17th December.

    Christmas Accessories

As much as we all love celebrating Christmas, we must make sure our children remain focused in their work for as long as possible. As a result, we are asking that children do not bring in Christmas accessories such as festive headbands until the last week of term.

Many thanks for your continued support.

    With kind regards,

    Miss Musa
