  • Inspiring pupils

Thu 07 Mar 2019 Mrs Tipton

We are incredibly proud of our pupils here at Ribbleton. Two pupils in particular need a special mention this week.

Firstly a pupil in Year 6, Cody, has been using his pocket money to help keep the homeless of Preston warm. An article from the Lancashire Evening post about this can be found here. Well done Cody, we are all incredibly proud!

In addition to this, a pupil in Year 4, Evie has been raising money for the Little Princess Trust.  Evie had 30cm of her hair cut off to help make wigs for children who are receiving treatment for cancer.  We love your new short hair Evie and are incredibly inspired by your actions to help others.

We love hearing about the incredible things our pupils are doing outside of school. If your child has done something inspiring, please let us know!

  • World Book Day

Thu 07 Mar 2019 Mrs Tipton

It is World Book Day in 7th March. Children can come to school dressed as their favourite character or in their pyjamas. There will be a £5 voucher for the best dressed in every class!

Children can also also bring a book of their own that they have finished from home which they will be able to swap on Monday for something else if they wish.

On Friday Maria Farrer, author of the Me and Mr P book series, is visiting school.  She will be working with year groups in the hall. She will give children a presentation about her work and read extracts from her books. We can not wait!
