What are Digital Leaders?
A Digital Leader is a pupil who is part of a Digital Leaders' Team within school, whose role it is to support the use and to further the development of computing in school.
The team is assembled upon application and interview, and will meet once a week during lunchtime.
Pupils are then given training and support to develop specific areas of computing expertise. These areas of expertise can be self determined, or may be a particular request for a specific item of hardware or software.
Once a pupil gains an area of expertise, staff may then request the use of the Digital Leader for a variety of different functions e.g.
Our digital leaders have brought our corridor displays to life, with flying kites, talking postboxes, dancing cola bottle and singing poppy wreaths! To view their work scan trigger images on the displays with HP reveal! Look out for the logo below and it means there is an item that will come to life!
Using the link above you can see our latest project with our new 3D printer.
Once we have finished our 3D printer project we are going to be starting our very own clubs for Year 3 and 4! Watch this space in the new year!
The digital leaders have had lots of fun over the past 2 weeks learning about Makey Makey and augmented reality.
Over the next few weeks we will be looking at our fabulous new resource- Purple Mash!
