Academic Year 2022/2023

In Year 3 we are working on Lower Key Stage 2-Cycle B

Please use this page to keep updated with your child's learning and remember, we are always happy to speak to you about any queries you may have.

Topic Overview

Battle of the Robots!

World Book Day!

Children's Mental Health Week.

The dates for outdoor learning this half term are as follows.

  • 8th November
  • 22nd November (class trip to the farm)
  • 6th December

Your child will be able to come to school on the above days in their own clothes, however, these clothes will need to be suitable for outdoor activities for example:

Long trousers/leggings or jogging pants (NO JEANS)

Long sleeved top

Fleece/jumper

Suitable footwear (wellies, walking boots, old trainers) as well as clean shoes in school

Coat (waterproof if owned)

This is particularly important as it gets colder over the next few months. If your child is not suitably dressed they may not be able to take part in the session.

The children have been really enjoying science recently. We managed to spend some time outside observing and collecting plants, leaves and seeds. We then classified our findings using a chart.

Your child will have outdoor learning every two weeks. The dates for outdoor learning this half term are as follows.

  • Tuesday 20th September
  • Tuesday 4th October
  • Tuesday 18th October

Your child will be able to come to school on the above days in their own clothes, however, these clothes will need to be suitable for outdoor activities for example:

Long trousers/leggings or jogging pants (NO JEANS)

Long sleeved top

Fleece/jumper

Suitable footwear (wellies, walking boots, old trainers)

Coat (waterproof if owned)

Please be aware that your child will be taking part in outdoor education over the whole school year and in ALL weathers, so suitable clothing will be required to suit the seasons. If your child is NOT suitably dressed, then unfortunately they will not be able to take part in the session. If you have any queries or questions regarding the activities please contact the main office, Miss Parkinson, Mr Moran or Mrs Langfield, who will be happy to help.

Harvest Assembly

Year three did wonderfully in our harvest assembly this year presenting our work and then singing a wonderful song. We reminded ourselves to be thankful for our food as well as learning how our food comes from all around the world.
