Ribbleton Avenue Methodist Junior School

Yesterday Year 5 and 6 were honoured to receive a visit from Chris Lubbe, a former bodyguard of Nelson Mandela. He spoke to our children about the hardships he has faced during his life, including growing up in South Africa during apartheid and the racism, aggression and segregation he has unfortunately seen. He told the children how this inspired him to stand up for what is right and to challenge what is wrong, leading him to work for Nelson Mandela. The children learned so much and left the talk feeling truly inspired to change the world for the better! A true inspiration and we are so grateful to Chris for taking the time to come and see us.
