A Peep into Preston
For our first topic we will be looking at a brief history of Preston. We will begin by looking at significant events in Preston's history and ordering them chronologically from the Battle of Preston, Preston in World War all the way until Preston today. We will then incorporate geography using digimaps to study maps of our city from over 135 years ago compared to the present day. Within the unit we will touch upon the role of the Industrial Revolution in catapulting Preston from a village into a town (this will be looked at in more depth in Y4) and we will finish by looking at famous Prestonians and what they achieved/how they have impacted our great city!
